Quote:@GeorgeDobell1: Tickets sales at Edgbaston better than has been suggested. 1st 3 days are 16,500, 17,000 and 14,800. Would fill most non-London grounds.

Rejoice.... At least I won't be there on my own...... Just got to hope the weather forecast improves a tad.

Thinking about this, it confirms that the first three venues to get a major game should be Lords, The Oval and Edgbaston....

RE: Test Match Tickets
Slightly different perspective on ticket sales from Paul Bolton here:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/cricket...-down.html
Taking George's figures plus the 4,000 Paul Bolton mentions for the Sunday, that makes about 52,000 advance sales. Mr. Povey says: "We have got 60,000 as our target. In ticket sales terms that is between £300,000-£400,000 off where you want it to be."
Overall, for a dead game against a poor team, those sales don't look too bad. But I guess the debt mountain that we have to re-pay has upped the stakes.
Let's hope that the Australians really don't go on strike because a sell-out one-day international could make all the difference.

Would you accept adults-for-a-quid for it?

Totally agree. When I bought a couple of tickets last week for day 1 there was pretty limited choice about where to sit so I think the doom merchants are a bit off mark about ticket sales. We should have everything crossed for fair weather so that Edgbaston can showcase what a great test venue it is.
