Stone in for Sidebottom is the only change.

Northants won the toss and elected to bat - and they're already 4 down (33-4, with 2 wickets for Henry) !

Well, make that five!
As for young Mr Brookes, is there anything he can't do?  Two wickets and a run-out so far this morning; and we know he can bat.

Mr. Brookes is looking extremely promising.

Exciting times with him, Stone, Lamb and Hain in the side.

For those of us working, I would like to see two full days of cricket this weekend. Show some fight Northants!!!

If Northants go on to get 400, I blame you!

Sibley and Rhodes struggling as an opening partnership this season. Sibley out for 0 this time.

And Rhodes for 14.

Not a promising start to the season from the openers at all. Been a long time since we had a good opening partnership.

Very true...very important day tomorrow... We need to win this to prove our credentials as a team moving forward and capable of winning division two... Which I believe we will.

I can only make it up to Edgbaston on Sunday.... At 112-7 this morning I was getting worried I wouldn't be able to see any cricket!

Opening partnership is disappointing again, but it was a bowlers day looking at the figures.

A good day considering we lost the toss (again!) Is it just me or do we lose a lot more tosses than we win?!

Well that’s not started well!

Indeed not... But if we can keep the lead under fifty, then perhaps we can be in with a better shout than we were around noon. I don't think Northants would escape a second time if we are a side capable of being promoted (which we are)..

Congratulations to Rankin by the way for taking Ireland's first test wicket by the way... and Porterfield for the catch.

Much needed 50 from Tim in the circumstances, need to try and get up to parity.

What a great season he’s having so far

Henry Brookes must be the best number 10 around.
