New Club Captain
#1
Here's some interesting news:
https://warwickshireccc.com/news/bears-a...b-captain/
Jeetan mentions that he is retiring at the end of 2020 - that's news to me as well.
Good luck to Will Rhodes - quite a responsibility he's taking on.

Good luck to Will, and thanks to Jeetan for been captain over the 2 years especially last season with all the injuries he had to contend with. Done a great job in my opinion. I think Jeetan should be rewarded with a benefit season next year. Just a minor criticism of the report, it says Will has established himself over the 3 formats. Well he hasn't really done that in the two 1 day comps so far. I think he could become a good 50 over player, but not in T20 from what i have seen of him so far.

I think he has the potential to be a very good player across all formats...Sibley did a job in 20/20 last season yet its Rhodes who has been the attacking player in four day arena...i remember him being very aggressive against Glamorgan in 2018

Apart from the announcement that this will be Jeetan's last season (sob!), this sounds really positive. The management will have seen enough of Rhodes to know if he is officer material and they are giving him a year surrounded by elder statesmen to settle in.

Very pleased. Good luck, Will.

Yep real shame about Patel...i was expecting him to keep going but of course can understand his desire to go into coaching, future Warwickshire coach i hope!

Glad i have purchased my membership, will try to attend as much as possible to watch a true bear legend

I spoke to Paul Farbrace and to the new captain about his appointment:
https://deepextracover.com/2019/12/you-o...b-captain/
There's another article brewing about the rest of the conversation with Paul Farbrace - what he makes of the 2019 season and the underlying causes of the injury crisis, his views on county and international cricket, his thoughts about the Bears' future prospects and much more!
