Id suggest they both need to sort out the results before they start in fighting. Or is KP sulking cos he didnt get MPV back?

RE: Kevin Pietersen
However, as KP is a world-class batsman that England need, I suggest Moores is toast!

Quite expensive toast, though:

RE: Kevin Pietersen
if Moores goes, I can see Giles taking the team to the West Indies - and after that who knows.

Id guessed if might be related to the absurd desire to have Hopalong Cassidy back in the team but maybe KP should reflect that he also insisted on Harmison coming back.

I was always a fan of Moores till poor results wore my support down but do we really want a cpatin who has just lost two series dictating things like this?

RE: Kevin Pietersen
Mmmm....this is all very interesting!
As i am not the most enthusiastic KP fan.. i find all this quite amusing and justifies exactly what i dislike about him.
Not sure where i stand as to the coaching credentials of Peter Moores.
Not too impressed at the moment is the most complimentary thing i can say.

However..i do think that there has been a desperate attempt at rekindling the team of 2005.
From KP's persuation to get Harmy back in the side to the latest attempt to get MVP back on board.
It just comes across as negative tactics.
I don't know who is responsible for the latest debacle and as much as i love MVP, he simply has not done enough to warrant a place back with the England squad.
We simply have to move on.
If KP is not capable of captaining the side without the input of an ex player, then he isn't up for the job.
I would feel slightly undermined at the thought of a successful ex captain suddenly being given a place when he has no recent form to justify his position in the team.
Also..how does that make the rest of the team feel..let alone those players who are being denied their chance?
So who's idea was it?
I agree with Kim..maybe KP is being given far too much power than he deserves.
His job is to 'captain' the team on the field.
That's what he should stick too.

Ponting doesn't have this sort of say with the Aussie squad.
He is kept well away from it...
Don't want bloody Warne & Gilchrist popping back up next year now do we??? Blushing

RE: Kevin Pietersen
KP is a rubbish captain and makes poor decisions and peter moores is rubbish. England have the quality in their side to become number 3 after south africa and india. But you need to find a good leader and a good coach first.

"I've played fair and hard and loved every minute of it. That would be the best way to be remembered. And also as a team man. While you're achieving team goals, your own milestones will pass by."

Sachin Tendulkar.

RE: Kevin Pietersen
The problem with Moores is that as he didn't play cricket at the highest level he hasn't got the respect of the players. I would like to see Moores succeed because I thought he did a wonderful job at Sussex and I prefer his approach to Fletchers. Unfortunately Pieterson thinks hes so good important he dictate to Moores and the selectors who they should pick. He should stick to what hes paid to do and captain a successful England team which hes failed to achieve so far.

RE: Kevin Pietersen
KP is very inexperienced as a captain, and should work on that role alone. Why have a board of selectors? The England captain should always have some input, but he shouldn't be given the sort of power that reports suggest.

If the role of England captain means as much to him as he says, he should work at making it a success, and let other people get on with the job they are paid to do.

That's the trouble with this country, people are always trying to get the top job before they've proven themselves in the job they've got now. Just look at Gordon Brown - I rest my case.

RE: Kevin Pietersen
I'd be interested to know who "leaked" the story to the press. Presumably it wasn't the ECB.
What happens next probably depends on whether this is just Sir Kevin flexing his muscles or the coach has lost the confidence of the team in general. In either case, it doesn't look good for the future.
Mind you, it is possible for a team to be successful even though some of the players don't rate the coach. Shame Warne was pretty outspoken about John Buchanan, the Australian coach for much of the time that Australia were the number one team by a distance. Here's a sample of Warne's views:

“I disagree with John Buchanan all the time. I don’t think he has made one good point in a long time, actually. Everything that I have read that he says, he is living in pixieland. It just shows what us players had to put up with John Buchanan. We had to listen to his verbal diarrhoea all the time. He is just a goose and has no idea and lacks common sense, and you can put all that in there”
